Today, GoPro announced a partnership with Huawei Business Group that will bring the Quik mobile editing app to the new P10 smartphone lineup. The announcement, made at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, comes with an all-new version of Quik.
This updated iteration of the award-winning storytelling app will be pre-installed in the new P10 and P10 Plus smartphones.
We want to provide people with best ways to capture and create visual stories and to make the process as simple as pressing a button, says GoPro Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman. GoPro's partnership with Huawei is particularly exciting because it introduces our video making solution to millions of P10 users, offering a quick, fun and simple way to tell compelling stories.
The P10's Photo Gallery uses a new feature called Highlight that automatically picks photos and videos for the user and puts them into a collection. Then, with a tap of the button, Quik creates a video matching the edit to the beat of the music, adding cool effects and transitions. From there, the person can quickly share the video or customize it, further choosing from various templates and Quik's easy-to-use editing features.
GoPro is proving to be the ultimate companion to any smartphone, and Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei CBG, agrees. During a keynote at Mobile World Congress he highlighted how the Quik app will be integrated into the phone's photo gallery, enabling users to easily create stories from their photos and videos.
And it gets better. GoPro Plus is now available in Europe. The cloud-based subscription service that gives users anywhere, anytime access to their GoPro content. People can automatically upload their content to GoPro Plus directly from their HERO5 cameras through the auto-offload feature or for older HERO cameras, through the Quik Desktop app. GoPro is offering a free 30-day trial of GoPro Plus, with subscriptions thereafter costing 5,99 / £5,99 per month.
This timing couldn't be more perfect because GoPro's Capture and Quik apps are receiving an update that allows people to access all of their GoPro photos and videos stored on their GoPro Plus account. And with the new moment selection feature of Quik, users can download just the moment they want without downloading an entire video, saving time and bandwidth.

The experience we've created with our mobile apps makes creating videos fun, simple and fast. And now with GoPro Plus, we are giving our consumers the ability to create videos whenever and from wherever they want, right from their mobile phone.
Quik also allows user to incorporate photos and video taken with a smartphone, so you never miss a favorite moment in the auto-generated For You video that the app creates weekly. Additional updates to Quik include improved music selection and a redesigned editing flow so videos come out more personalized to tell your story how you want to.
