Marc Shipman-Mueller, Senior Product Manager, ARRI, speaks about the company's ongoing expansion into the live production market and provides an update on what's new at IBC 2024.
The company has responded to a strong market demand for cinematic-quality cameras in live-event production by developing the Alexa 35 live multicam system. The Alexa 35 live system, introduced at NAB 2024, is designed to meet the demand for high-quality cinematic visuals in live events. According to Shipman-Mueller, ARRI's system has been well-received, with successful tests including a major soccer game. He says ARRI is seeing more orders for the camera than the company can currently fulfill and that the system is gaining traction in concert and sports markets, with notable use in events like Billy Joel's Madison Square Garden concert.
