University of Central Florida (UCF) has asked Daktronics to design, manufacture and install a total of 17 LED video displays and two custom audio systems for Bright House Networks Stadium and CFE Arena on campus in Orlando, Florida. Installation is slated for later this summer prior to football kicking off this fall.
I think these new displays are going to be a game-changer for the in-game, in-venue environment in both Bright House Networks Stadium and CFE Arena, said UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White. The time is now for us to be bold. An investment like this, in our two keystone facilities, is about as bold as it gets.
The main display at Bright House Networks Stadium will measure more than 36 feet high by 136 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium. It features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any variety of live video, instant replays, scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
The football stadium will receive a ribbon display mounted to the seating fascia in addition to the main display. This ribbon display will measure approximately 7 feet high by 199 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout. It offers the opportunity to supplement content and information on the main display while also highlighting sponsors throughout events.
The custom audio system being installed at the stadium features the precision aiming of speakers in a line array formation on each side of the new video display to provide high clarity sound and intelligible speech throughout the facility. A total of 16 dual subwoofers connected to a 32-channel digital mix desk in the control room will bring booming sound to Knights fans on game day.

The existing Daktronics displays have been in place for over eight years and will be removed to make way for larger and higher resolution video displays to entertain the fans. We look forward to being a part of this next exciting phase for Golden Knights supporters and continuing our great relationship with UCF.
Inside CFE Arena, a nine-display centerhung configuration will be the centerpiece above the basketball court. Four main displays will each measure 14.5 feet high by 17.5 feet wide in a square formation. These four displays feature the same variable content zoning capabilities as mentioned above. Four wedge-shaped display will fill in the corners of the configuration. These eight displays will feature a tight 6 millimeter line spacing.
Below the main displays, a lower ring display measuring approximately 3 feet high by 58 feet in circumference and featuring 10 millimeter line spacing will be installed. The arena will also be receiving a ribbon display measuring 2 feet high by 659 feet wide and featuring 15 millimeter line spacing, and five courtside scorer's tables measuring 2.5 feet high by 8 feet wide. These displays provide the opportunity and flexibility to provide supplemental game information as well as highlight sponsors throughout events.
With the new video system, a new custom audio system was carefully crafted and prepared for installation at the arena. It will feature 57 speakers, 16 dual subwoofers, a 32-channel mix desk and a 23-inch touchscreen for maximum control of the system as it provides booming sound and clear, intelligible speech at every event.
