Films featuring at the Out in Africa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival --

From 28 May to 1 June, the 21st Out in Africa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival takes place at Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank, Johannesburg and The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
The festival, which celebrates the fight against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, is supported by the National Film and Video Foundation, the Goethe-Institut and Graton Guest House, 6 Spin Street Restaurant as well as 8333 members and 700 MySchool contributors.
German director Jan Soldat will be in attendance to present his documentaries: Weekend in Germany and The Incomplete. Soldat invites audiences to venture behind closed doors with a touching documentary double-bill which explores people s deepest fears and desires.
Kill Your Darlings is a biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the gay Beat poet Allen Ginsberg. Directed by John Krokidas, the film follows the story of a murder investigation involving Ginsberg, his classmate Lucien Carr and fellow poet William S. Burroughs. Kill Your Darlings will open the Festival; the film, as well as refreshments on the night, will be courtesy of Cinema Nouveau.
Directed by Eric Schaeffer, Boy Meets Girl is the coming-of-age story of three 20-year-olds. The movie is a romantic comedy and crosses all gender and sexual orientation lines.
A suburban lesbian housewife suffers a head injury which releases her dormant sexuality in Concussion. The film is directed by Stacie Passon and won the Teddy Jury Award at the Berlinale Film Festival.
Directed by Alain Guiraudie, Stranger by the Lake tells the story of passion and murder at a secluded lakeside spot and has won a number of awards including the 2013 Cannes Un Certain Regard Best Directing award.
