Jakarta, 11 December 2019 - Today, Netflix announced the launch of a new Mobile Plan for Indonesia. At Rp 49,000 per month, members will be able to enjoy all of Netflix's content on a mobile or a tablet. This is our fourth plan in Indonesia, in addition to the existing Basic, Standard, and Premium plans.
The Mobile Plan lets members stream and download Netflix's entire catalogue of best-in-class films and series, including Vagabond, Money Heist, Stranger Things, The Crown, Klaus, The Irishman and the upcoming 6 Underground. There's also a growing list of Indonesian films such as The Night Comes for Us, Headshot, Love for Sale, Cinta itu Buta, Suzanna Bernapas Dalam Kubur, and Mata Batin 2.
According to the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association, 93% of Indonesia's 170 million internet access the web via their smartphones. Our Indonesian members are also heavy smartphone users -- watching on their mobiles twice as much as the global average. We believe the Mobile Plan will make Netflix even more accessible for Indonesians.
As it stands, the four price plans in Indonesia are now:
Mobile: RP 49,000
Basic: RP 109,000
Standard: RP 139,000
Premium: RP 169,000
Netflix continues to improve the mobile experience with key features like Smart Downloads, to let you watch shows offline; subtitles in Bahasa Indonesia; and the ability to share what you're watching on social media from the app.
Netflix also gives members control over what they watch. With features like Profiles (you can select up to 5 profiles) and Parental Controls, they can decide what's most suitable for them and their families. All these features are also available on the Mobile Plan.
