Cooperation: ZEI and PowerVision Join Forces

OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 12.04.2017. Optics company ZEISS and drone manufacturer PowerVision have announced plans to work together in the future. A collaboration agreement to this effect has already been signed.

We are delighted to have partnered with such a young and dynamic enterprise as PowerVision, which puts such an emphasis on research and development, says Winfried Scherle, Head of the Consumer Optics business group from ZEISS. We see a lot of potential for future innovations in this collaboration.

ZEISS and PowerVision start their collaboration with the PowerVision product called PowerRay Wizard, an underwater drone. The VR headset ZEISS VR ONE Plus is among others part of the sales bundle. PowerRay Wizard will globally be available for pre-order starting today at https://store.eu.powervision.me. The recommended retail price incl. VAT for the PowerRay Wizard will be 2.099. The bundle will be available by the end of May.

Consumer Optics

The Consumer Optics business group combines the companys business with camera and movie lenses, binoculars, spotting scopes, hunting optics, virtual reality headsets and planetarium technology. The business group is represented at sites in Oberkochen, Wetzlar and Jena. The business group is allocated to the Vision Care/ Consumer Products segment. In fiscal year 2015/16 the segment generated revenue of 1.1 billion with around 9,300 employees.
