Australian comic book writer Tom Taylor has shut down claims that his LGBTQI comic, Superman: Son of Kal-El which features a bisexual Superman, has been shut down. This comes after The Daily Mail reported that the comic book was axed due to poor sales.

HAS SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL' BEEN CANCELLED? On Wednesday 12 October, The Daily Mail claimed that Superman: Son of Kal-El had been cancelled due to low sales. The comic book is based on Jon Kent, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane who comes out as bisexual.

[A] new Superman had to have new fights real-world problems that he could stand up to as one of the most powerful people in the world, said Tom Taylor.

The publication claimed that after 18 issues, sales for Superman: Son of Kal-El were poor with 34 000 comics sold in the previous month.

OUR SUPERMAN IS SELLING PRETTY WELL' In January, Taylor said his Superman series was quite successful adding that he doesn't believe a story's success is measured by sales.

But our Superman is selling pretty well. Issue #5, where Jon Kent comes out as bisexual, made the Top 10 comic sales for November.
