IHSE Introduces New 4K DisplayPort Extender

(04/08/2014) IHSE expands its wide range of custom KVM extenders with new DisplayPort versions. The new product series enables the transmission of high definition video and audio data over the cutting-edge DisplayPort interface.

DisplayPort is an increasingly popular interface within the electronics industry. The slim video connector offers many advantages over conventional interfaces. DisplayPort transmits video and audio signals simultaneously, supports the highest display resolutions, incorporates mechanical locking and is compatible with VGA, DVI and HDMI interfaces, enabling a gradual upgrade to new extender models.

For visually lossless extension of DisplayPort signals, IHSE has launched a new extender series: the Draco vario DisplayPort extenders. These are compatible with Draco tera KVM matrix switches and are cross-compatible with the DVI and HDMI extender series for video and USB-HID extension. Transfer of fully-digital video signals (including 3D video in full-HD) is supported in 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 und 3840 x 2160.

The DisplayPort extender supports all regular digital audio standards. This eliminates the need for additional audio modules, enabling playback of the audio signal through monitors with integrated loudspeakers. Integration of optional upgrade modules for digital audio input and output is also possible.

IHSE offers DisplayPort extenders in single and redundant path variants. Redundant data links increase system resilience and prevent system failures. Various upgrades to extend legacy video standards and convert analog signals are also available.

Draco vario products, including the new DisplayPort versions will be available in live demonstration at IBC in Amsterdam, 12-16 September 2014, alongside IHSE's range of high-performance KVM switching and extension technology.
