METLIFE NAMED AMONG TOP 50 ORGANIZATIONS FOR MULTICULTURAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES NEW YORK, March 18, 2015 MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that it has been selected as one of "Americas Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities" by DiversityBusiness.com. MetLife is being acknowledged for a second year in a row for its commitment to doing business with a diverse group of suppliers.

The Div50 list features the Top 50 Corporations that have emerged as leaders in providing business opportunities to women - and minority-owned businesses. This recognition is based on factors such as the volume, consistency and quality of business opportunities a company grants to multicultural suppliers, as measured by an annual survey of women and minority-owned businesses conducted by DiversityBusiness.com.

"We first set up a supplier diversity program at MetLife 10 years ago to provide opportunities to diverse suppliers," said Arnold Sowa, senior vice president and chief procurement officer at MetLife. "This is now an important part of how we do business, and we are very honored to be recognized for our work expanding opportunities for diverse suppliers."
