Kaltura Teams with Wowza to Launch New Live Video Streaming Capability Leading Video Platform Adds Wowza Streaming Engine to Give Customers Seamless Live Video Delivery and Advanced Live Video Capabilities
New York City, NY and Evergreen, Co (May 13, 2014) Wowza Media Systems and Kaltura today announced a new partnership that adds enhanced live video streaming capabilities for Kaltura customers. The new integration enables the Kaltura platform to easily begin broadcasting live video streams to deliver reliable, high-quality live viewing experiences on any device.
The live streaming engine powered by Wowza Media Systems, provides a robust, scalable service that is integrated into Kaltura allowing media companies and operators, educational institutions and enterprises to efficiently deliver live video to any device, including smartphones and tablets, connected and Smart TVs, set-top-boxes and gaming consoles. The ability to deploy with SaaS or on-premises options gives Kaltura customers the flexibility to scale up and scale down resources to meet changing broadcast demands with maximum budget efficiency.
Full featured live streaming is now part of every Kaltura service package making live streaming more affordable and easier for thousands of producers to send live content to millions of end users.

Customers can provide a single stream and have it transcoded in real-time to multiple formats for cross-device distribution. This not only maximizes delivery to all devices, but also in combination with Kaltura's server side ad stitching functionality, maximizes revenue potential in one simple workflow available via an intuitive interface or API calls.
Streamlined Live-to-VOD Workflow - live streams seamlessly transition to VOD within the same video player there's no need to re-ingest the recording, swap the player embed code or lose one second of playback and monetization as live event value is extended to a VOD asset.
Live Clipping allows customers to clip small segments of the live stream for VOD publishing during the live broadcast.
