Banijay Group increases scripted output through joint investment in future production of leading soap Familie

Banijay Group has today increased its scripted output through a partnership which sees MEDIALAAN, the parent company of VTM, and production house Zodiak Belgium, a Banijay Group company, joining forces to invest in the future of popular long-running daily VTM series Familie.

Now in its 28th season, Familie continues to go from strength to strength, with its latest series achieving the highest viewing figures of the last ten years. The new partnership will see the two companies build on this success story, investing further in people, content and infrastructure in the coming years.

The first stage in this new collaboration will be a significant upgrade in Familie's studio facilities, as the production moves to Zodiak Belgium's independent production house in Lint / AED Studios. In the coming months, no fewer than 2400m of dedicated studios will be set up, including a brand new lighting infrastructure. The whole cast and crew of Familie, which totals around 90 people, will move from its current studio in Boortmeerbeek to the brand new studios in the summer of 2018.
