Film School Senior Producer

Senior Producer to commence duty at the beginning of May 2014 at leading film, television and live performance school in SA. Reporting to the Head of Film School, must be a dynamic, organised person with a proven Producing/Line Producing background as well as experience in Lecturing.

The Ideal candidate will have at least an Honours degree and over 7 years experience in the film and television industry experience.

Compile and manage annual Film School production budgets (1st, 2nd,3rd Years)

Orchestrating development and production of termly student projects (1st, 2nd,3rd Years)

Compiling and managing production schedules for termly student projects

Conceptualising, planning and running of annual Film School mid-year Festival (Experimental) and end of year Film School Festival (Graduation)

Archiving and BCA box compilation with 3rd year students

Marketing and recruitment (eg open day)

Marketing and distribution (eg student content to local and international film festivals)

Online Marketing (eg online film festival)

Festival Press and Media Liaising

Planning and facilitating assembly's

Planning and facilitating orientation week

Managing of student committee (CLVA)

Planning and management of annual end of year awards

Convene staff meetings or the like

Attend skills development training committee

Acquisition of new equipment and capex requests

1st year class control duties eg subject choices, workgroup formation, crew formation, conduct hearings, mentoring, etc

Student fundraising activities on campus

Annual graduation ceremony

Lecturing role

o Shared lecturing responsibilities

o Shared marking responsibilities

o Student consultations and mentoring

o Administrative paperwork

o Assessing 3rd year project readiness prior to VALA

o Overseeing 3rd year producing students role in annual Film School mid-year Festival (Experimental) and end of year Film School Festival (Graduation)

Honours degree in relevant field.

7 years experience in the film and television industry.

Lecturing experience.

Online learning experience.

Writing and language editing skills for educational material.

Communication skills.

Administrative skills.
