Vinten has announced a series of upgrades to its VEGA control system.

The company, a Videndum Production Solutions brand, is updating and enhancing the VEGA robotic camera support system with features designed to provide greater control and more creative options for broadcasters.

In-flight trimming is now featured for presenter tracking, allowing for more natural framing by enabling pan, tilt and zoom during camera movements. Ad-hoc tracking options now include deadband-only templates and live video setup and a new shot trim/track-only triggering feature enables tracking adjustments without triggering broader camera moves, said the company.

Device control functionality has been enhanced. Decoupling of control elements aims to enable flexibility to adapt and reconfigure production setups. Support has been added for assigning video routing, tally mapping and automation settings to sets of connected robots that may correspond to a physical studio. VEGA also now supports third-party broadcast robotics, providing compatibility with robotic systems from other manufacturers a feature that will continue to expand.

VEGA's user interface has been redesigned to include a new edit page layout with resizeable shot grid and repositioned action buttons, aiming to enhance workflow efficiency.
