Quantum Corp. today announced that at the 2019 NAB Show it will launch a new NVMe all-flash storage platform that is designed to dramatically accelerate media workflows. The company also announced general availability of StorNext 6.2, a major new release of the companys award-winning StorNext high performance shared storage. StorNext 6.2 is shipping today with the latest generation Xcellis appliances, the solution of choice to ingest, edit, share and preserve media content and provide an improved technical foundation for organizations to run their operations.
In addition to these developments, Quantum (booth #SL4409 at NAB) will also feature a range of interactive demonstrations of new and enhanced solutions encompassing removable storage for on-set production, NVMe for high performance ingest and edit, as well as color correction and finishing of UHD content, cloud-based solutions for low-cost long-term preservation, the latest StorNext features, and hyperconverged storage for surveillance recording.

NVMe All-Flash Appliance
As customers deal with more and more UHD content, emerging storage technologies like NVMe are intended to help customers dramatically improve performance while simplifying their infrastructure. Quantums new NVME all-flash appliances combine 100% NVMe storage media with a new software defined block storage architecture and StorNext, which is expected to deliver ultra high-performance storage capabilities for the most demanding environments in media today.
Showcasing StorNext 6.2 Advancements
StorNext 6.2 bolsters performance for high resolution video while enhancing integration with cloud-based workflows and global collaborative environments. With StorNext 6.2 Quantum offers an S3 interface to Xcellis appliances, enabling them to serve as targets for applications designed to write to RESTful interfaces. In addition, enhanced FlexSync replication capabilities enable users to create local or remote replicas of multi-tier file system content and metadata, offering more flexibility to protect a single directory or an entire file system.
New Xcellis Models with More Efficient Network Capabilities for Greater Productivity
From leading post-houses to cutting-edge autonomous vehicle engineering firms, organizations are turning to the latest networking technologies to attain the most cost-effective storage solutions. The new Xcellis models offer the latest 100 Gb Ethernet and 32 Gb Fibre Channel connectivity options, enabling customers to utilize the latest generation networking infrastructure between their clients and storage arrays, thereby accelerating workflows and improving productivity. Combined with StorNexts comprehensive and coordinated file accessibility over NAS, SAN, and DLC architectures, the new Xcellis platform offers industry-leading architectural flexibility.

Low Cost Digital Media Archive - Private or Public Cloud: Quantum will demonstrate the latest Scalar i6 archive tape technology for the lowest cost on-premise digital media archive, as well as new capabilities to archive content in the cloud.
Latest StorNext Features: Demonstrations include the latest features in StorNext 6.2, a streamlined more intuitive user interface, cloud-based monitoring and analytics software, and more.
Hyperconverged Surveillance Storage: Quantum will showcase a new product line for video surveillance recording and industrial IoT.
