Theres more cosmic fun in store as Saint Seiya Omega, New Knights of the Zodiac arrives in France on Canal J! Canal J and Toei Animation will launch the next instalment of the 90s cult series on 13 March, exclusively in France.

More than 20 years after releasing one of its top series, Knights of the Zodiac, Toei Animation has launched a stunning sequel to the adventures of Seiya for the next generation, to air on Canal J as of 13 March.

Veteran fans - who will recognize the many references to the original Knights - can also enjoy the animated series 51 episodes on MCM in 2014.

This major series follows the heroic adventures of a new generation of knights as they battle against the god Mars. Entirely designed and produced by Toei Animation, the leading producer of animated TV series in Japan, Saint Seiya Omega, New Knights of the Zodiac became an instant hit in Japan after its spring 2012 launch.

Caroline Mestik, head of programming at Canal J, is expecting the same reaction from viewers in France: "This series is a flagship programme for Canal J, and all the ingredients are in place for it to become a cult favourite, just like the original."

"We are really looking forward to the upcoming launch of the new Knights of the Zodiac in France. With the help of Canal J and MCM, were hoping to create a fresh legend," comments Ryuji Kochi, general manager of Toei Animation Europe.

In the beginning...

Since the dawn of time, whenever the forces of evil threaten the world, they have been driven off by the defenders of hope: the Knights of the Zodiac. Protected by their sacred Zodiac armour, they defend the goddess Athena and the Earth itself, empowered by a mystical energy called "Cosmos," which lies dormant in each of us.

Seiya, the Pegasus Knight, has already saved Athenas life on numerous occasions. The battles fought by Seiya and his comrades, the other Bronze Knights, are the stuff of legend. During one of these battles, Seiya fought with Mars, the god of war and guardian of the planet of the same name, whom he defeated and imprisoned, saving the life of Koga - a tiny baby subsequently cared for by Saori Kido (Athena) - in the process.

As time passes, however, the return of Mars edges ever closer.

Accompanied by several young knights, including Soma (Lion Cub Knight), Yuna (Eagle Knight) and Haruto (Wolf Knight), Koga, now a teenager, sets out to find the real Athena and to upset Mars evil plans.

The great cosmic epic starts on 13 March at 3:15 pm on Canal J!
