Reason 14 now available

New Track Panel, sequencer upgrades & more

Following their recent public beta release, Reason Studios have announced the full release of Reason 14. With the launch of the latest version, the popular DAW has been treated to a visual design overhaul, gained some powerful new sequencing capabilities, kitted out with new built-in effects and more.

The headline feature of the new version is its new track-centric workflow, which offers control of any track's signal chain, levels and sends directly from a new Track Panel in the sequencer, providing users with in-depth control over their session without needing to switch views. The sequencer itself has been upgraded, too, with Track Folders and a more intuitive piano roll helping to deliver both operational and organisational improvements. RV-9 Reverb Station then expands the onboard effects collection, while a whole host of new drum samples and instrument patches provide a wider range of built-in sounds.

Reason Rack As with previous versions, the software is available in two forms: Reason and Reason Rack. The former is the full, standalone DAW, while the latter delivers a plug-in version that allows the software's instruments and effects to be loaded into other DAWs as a VST3, AU or AAX plug-in.

Compatibility Reason 14 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. Reason Rack is available as a VST3, AU and AAX plug-in.

Those who have paid for a perpetual license for (or upgrade to) Reason 13 from 1 March 2026 onwards are eligible for a free upgrade to the latest version.
