Quirino Awards launched a forum for co-production of animation Until December 14, the event will receive animated works of the 23 countries of Latin America have been released between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017.
The Organization of the Quirino of the Ibero-American animation Awards It announced last Thursday the extension of registration to completed works; and the opening of the call to the co-production Forum. Both events will take place on 6 and 7 April in the Auditorio of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain).
The announcement was made in the context of the presentation of the awards Quirino in window South 2017, which was held in Buenos Aires between November 27 and December 1. The presentation was conducted by Jos Luis Farias, promoter of the initiative; Gerardo Michelin, press officer; Marta Machado, Ambassador of the awards in Brazil; Jos I esta, Ambassador to Mexico; Paul cow, responsible for international relations and Silvina Cornillon, Ambassador for Latin America.
Until December 14, the event gets animated works of the 23 countries of the region that have been released between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017. The announcement includes nine categories: series, short film, feature film, short film school, innovative work, the work of custom, visual development, animation design and sound design. To participate are available on the website of the awards Quirino.
Co-production Forum
Parallel to the awards, the Organization announced the forthcoming opening of the call of the Latin America/World Forum of co-production. From December 15, Ibero-American entertainment companies may apply to the activity, to be held on 6 and 7 April in the Auditorium of the island town. The program will feature meetings one to one, workshops and conferences with the aim of creating a meeting point for Ibero-American animation producers. "We not only want to talk about projects, but also of the own producers, because many times to be able to work together is important not only to know the projects, but also know how to work each producer", said Jos Luis Farias.

Identity
The Quirino Awards come at a time of effervescence of the Latin American animation. Currently, according to concerned Gerardo Michelin, only in Latin America develops around a hundred feature films, of which 25 are Brazilians.
In this context, the event has the challenge of promoting collaboration to build an identity, explained the promoters. Awards are named in tribute to the creator of the first animated feature of the history, the italo-Argentine Quirino Cristiani, who in 1917 directed "The Apostle"; an Argentine production which were 58,000 drawings made to hands and shot in 35 mm, as well as several scale models representing public buildings and streets of the city of Buenos Aires.
