Los Angeles - April 26, 2011 - KCET, The nations largest independent public television station, invites you to come visit its booth at the L.A. Times Festival of Books at the University of Southern California, April 30 and May 1, 2011.
Throughout the weekend KCET (booth #744) will showcase the latest news, entertainment, and cultural programming (including a live re-broadcast of the monumental Royal Wedding). Also on display will be KCETs cutting-edge web exclusives including Departures web-documentary series, Free Lunch where youre the reviewer, and Youth Voices.
Booth visitors can sign up for KCET membership, and also have the chance to meet the stations prize-winning news team and authors who will be making special appearances throughout Saturday:
Val Zavala, (Saturday 11 a.m.-3 p.m.), SoCal Connected host and KCET Vice President of News and Public Affairs.
Lisa Napoli, (Saturday 12 p.m.-2 p.m.), SoCal Connected correspondent and author of Radio Shangri-La (sold at booth #064)
Patt Morrison, (Saturday 2 p.m.-3 p.m.), SoCal Connected commentator, KPCC host and LA Times columnist - author of Rio L.A.: Tales from the Los Angeles River, and has the essay Flirting with Urbanism in the book My California: Journeys by Great Writers, and the story Morocco Junction 90210 in the book Los Angeles Noir (My California: Journeys by Great Writers & Rio L.A.: Tales from the L.A. River sold at booth #068, Los Angeles Noir sold at booth #163)
D.J. Waldie, (Saturday 3 p.m.-4 p.m.) contributing writer at Los Angeles Magazine, and contributing editor for the Los Angeles Times. He is the author of six books, including Holy Land: A Suburban Memoir, Where We Are Now: Notes from Los Angeles, and California Romantica. Festival gates open Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.- 5p.m.
