Goalpost Pictures Australia announced today that Top End Wedding, the new feature film co-written by and starring Miranda Tapsell, co-written by Joshua Tyler and directed by Wayne Blair, will go into production early in the New Year after securing major investment funding from Screen Australia.

Tapsell starred in the Goalpost Pictures box office hit The Sapphires and actor/writer Joshua Tyler's credits include the comedy series Plonk. Producers are Goalpost's Rosemary Blight and Kylie du Fresne and Kojo Entertainment's Kate Croser with executive producers Glen Condie and Ben Grant.

Goalpost has a long-standing creative relationship with Wayne Blair that began with his Golden Bear winning short film The Djarn Djarns and has continued with The Sapphires and two series of Cleverman.

This hilarious and heart-warming comedy is the story of successful Sydney lawyer, Lauren, and her fianc Ned. Engaged and in love, they have just 10 days to find Lauren s mother who has gone AWOL somewhere in the Northern Territory, reunite her parents and pull off their dream Top End Wedding.

Top End Wedding has received principal production investment from Screen Australia, in association with the South Australian Film Corporation and support from Tourism NT. eOne will distribute the film in Australia and New Zealand, with Berlin-based Films Boutique handling international sales.
