AJA Announces 50% Price Drop for Ki Pro Rack posted: 01/08/2016
New $1995 price goes into effect on August 1st
AJA Video Systems announced a 50% price drop for its popular Ki Pro Rack file-based recording and playback device. Simultaneous to announcing the new $1995 US MSRP price point, AJA has also released the free v6.0 firmware update that brings enhanced embedded closed captioning support to Ki Pro Rack.
With new v6.0 firmware, Ki Pro Rack now fully supports recording and playout of video with embedded Closed Captioning. The device recognizes CEA-708 within incoming SDI inputs and encodes Closed Captioning to Apple ProRes recorded files for playout.
Ki Pro Rack simplifies the acquisition-to-edit workflow by creating high-quality Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD files which can be used immediately in most standard professional editing systems without the need to transcode files.
Customers who purchased Ki Pro Rack between July 1st through to August 1st, will qualify to receive two AJA SSD drives for free for each Ki Pro Rack purchased. This promotion will be managed directly through AJA; qualified customers should fill out the online claim form at www.aja.com/kiprorackpromo

Eliminating the cost and inconvenience of transcoding footage, Ki Pro Rack produces ready-to-edit files that can be used directly with almost any NLE. Ki Pro Rack also allows for on-set capture and playback, hardware based up and down conversion or as an alternative for traditional tape-based devices in any facility.
Pricing and Availability
Ki Pro Rack is available now for an MSRP of $1995.00 (US) through AJA's worldwide network of resellers. KiSSD storage modules are available in two capacities; KiSSD256 ($695 MSRP) and KiSSD512 (MSRP $1295). High-capacity KiStor HDD units are also available; KiStor500 ($385 MSRP) and the 1TB KiStor1000 ($495 MSRP).
