Smart infrastructures at heart of new tve film award

Award-winning landlord and director of property companies, Azad Ayub, brings his passion for future-proof design to the 2019 tve Film Awards by launching a new category, Infrastructures for the Future. The award celebrates the architects, engineers, designers, construction companies, developers, landlords and urban planners who are putting the future of the planet and its people at the forefront of their work. This is one of six competitive awards open to film entries from companies addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their day-to-day business. From Dubai to Dallas, from Sydney to Singapore, developed infrastructure is the cornerstone for future development, and effective infrastructure leads to prolonged and sustainable development,' says Azad, who will announce the award-winner during the high-profile ceremony at London's May Fair Hotel on 18 November, 2019.

During his time as a senior civil and structural engineer at Freeman Fox and Partners, Azad worked on large-scale infrastructure projects from the development of the M5 Motorway in Devon to the Exe Viaduct, and Exminster Bridge. He is now director of the London-based property management company, Azad Ayub Limited, which won the biennial Best Green Landlord award three times between 2012 - 2016 and the Best Student Landlord award in 2019.

Azad Ayub is launching the new Infrastructures for the Future category for the 2019 Awards. The tve Global Sustainability Film Awards are organised annually by the charity tve and are now in their 8th year. Jennifer Viccars, Octopus Group's brand and marketing director, is president of the 2019 Awards which are now open for entries. Businesses and institutions globally are invited to enter films into the following competitive categories, which focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals: Companies taking Climate Action, Transforming Society, Sustainable Transactions, Sky: Beyond Plastic, Infrastructures for the Future, and AI and Digital Innovation. tve will also run the two nominated categories, The Founder's Award for Sustainability on the Big Screen, an award directed at feature length films addressing one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the PA Award for Environmental Storytelling. www.gsfa.tve.org

Sky has partnered with tve to sponsor the Beyond Plastic category for a second year. Through Sky Ocean Rescue, Sky is using its voice and reach to inspire simple, everyday changes to stop the oceans from drowning in plastic.
