Sky News partners with Arc XP to power the future of digital journalism

Today, Sky News can announce that it has partnered with Arc XP, the content platform and media operating system developed by The Washington Post, as part of its Sky News 2030 transformation. The collaboration aims to build a faster, smarter and more flexible platform, supporting Sky News's vision to become a premium, video-first newsroom built for the digital future.

Sky News 2030 is a five-year transformation programme designed to respond to a rapidly changing media landscape, where technology and shifting audience habits are redefining how news is discovered and consumed. The plan aims to deliver high-value, video first journalism that audiences choose to spend time with, across the platforms where they already are.

AI is driving a major shift in how news is discovered, produced, and circulates. Arc XP equips Sky News with the tools and experience to keep pace with that change. With a strong record of innovation, including developing the platform that powers The Washington Post's Ask the Post AI chatbot, Arc XP's vision and technological capabilities form the foundation of this partnership.

Together, Sky News and Arc XP will explore new ways for audiences to discover and engage with trusted Sky News journalism. One of the first initiatives under development is AI-powered search, which aims to provide a more intuitive and conversational way for users to find the stories that matter to them.

This is one part of a broader Sky News AI strategy under the 2030 banner. Sky News sees AI as an opportunity to enhance journalism - supporting its reporters, improving audience experiences, and strengthening British journalism as a whole.
