Doc Filmmakers, Apply Now To the Points Nor Fellowship

In honor of its 10th anniversary, the Camden International Film Festival is offering 5 documentary filmmakers (or filmmaking teams) the chance of a lifetime.

Located on the coast of Maine, the Camden International Film Festival is known as a safe harbor for developing filmmakers to make valuable industry connections and as a venue for the discovery of fresh talent. One of the most integral features of the festival is the Points North Documentary Forum.

Filmmakers who have been awarded Points North Fellowships have the unique opportunity to develop their feature-length works-in-progress through workshops, industry mentorship, and most of exciting of all a live, public pitch session to a panel of professionals. Is the opportunity valuable? Absolutely! Successful films that have been pitched at Points North include indie hits like In Country, Betting the Farm, and Leviathan.

After the fellows make their pitches at the Festival, the industry panel will select one project for the Points North Pitch Award, which includes $1000 cash prize from Documentary Educational Resources, 3 consultations with the our friends at TFI, and a discounted post-production package from Modulus Studios.

After the Festival, all selected fellows will receive a ticket to the Cinema Eye Honors, an invitation to CIFF's annual Nominees Party, and 2 nights of accommodations in New York. Since the event takes place in mid-January, fellows will have to opportunity to reconnect with their mentors and follow up on their pitches.

The fellowship is open to all filmmakers with feature-length documentaries in progress. All you have to do is apply before the set deadline of July 18, 2014 at midnight with your $30 submission fee. Selected fellows will receive two VIP passes to CIFF, 4 nights of accommodations and a travel stipend to Camden.
