The National Ploughing Championships are back and RT will once again be there with a jam-packed schedule of live programmes and performances.

From September 15th - 17th, Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly will provide the backdrop for the National Ploughing Championships 2026 and RT will be bringing the sights, sounds and stories from the country's biggest outdoor event to audiences across Ireland.

RT 2FM and RT Radio 1 will broadcast live from the RT tent throughout the three-day Championships, with a host of favourite programmes making the journey to Tullamore. From Morning Ireland and Liveline to 2FM Morning's with Doireann Garrihy, visitors can experience some of RT 's most popular radio shows up close.

There's plenty to enjoy off-air too. Visitors to the RT tent can step into the shadow of the Traitors Ireland conclave and discover whether they have what it takes to don the iconic Traitors cloak or stop by for a photo in the 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In pub.

Budding artists visitng the RT tent can take part in a live animation session with RT Kids' Storytellers and Marvel Comics artist, Will Sliney and learn how to draw one of RT Kids' much-loved characters.

Nationwide presenters Anne Cassin and Bl thnaid N Chofaigh will once again bring viewers behind the scenes of The Ploughing' while RT News and RT Weather will broadcast live across the three days.

With live radio, family activities, sport, music and entertainment, RT has something for everyone at this year's National Ploughing Championships.

Tuesday 15th September

Ireland's most-listened-to radio programme, Morning Ireland, will kick off RT 's coverage live from the RT tent from 7:00-9:00, bringing listeners the latest news and stories from the opening day of the National Ploughing Championships.

From 11:00-13:00, Oliver Callan takes to the stage for a live broadcast with his trademark mix of humour and chat.

From 13:30-14:30, young creatives can join RT Kids' Storytellers and Marvel Comics artist Will Sliney for an interactive animation workshop and discover how their favourite RT Kids characters are brought to life.

Rounding off the day, Laura Fox and Katja Mia will broadcast 2FM Drive with Laura and Katja live from the Ploughing, bringing all the energy and entertainment from Screggan, Tullamore to listeners around the country.

Wednesday 16th September

Today with David McCullagh broadcasts live from the RT tent on day two of the National Ploughing Championships from 9:00-11:00 bringing the top stories of the day across politics, entertainment, sport and everyday life.

RT Gold's Cormac Battle will keep audiences on-site and at home entertained with a special live broadcast from 11:30-13:00 featuring some of the biggest hits of all time.

Later that afternoon, CountryWide with Philip Boucher Hayes will be recorded live on stage before Drivetime brings listeners the latest news and analysis from across Ireland and beyond.

Thursday 17th September

The final day of the National Ploughing Championships begins with 2FM Mornings with Doireann Garrihy live on RT 2FM.

From 12:30-13:15, the RT GAA Podcast will stage a live recording hosted by Cathal Mullaney featuring guests and contributors from across the GAA community.

Liveline will round out proceedings broadcasting live from the stage, giving attendees and listeners alike the chance to hear the stories and conversations that matter most.
