Sony appoints Richard Scott to leads its European Media Solutions Business posted: 03/01/2017
New appointment brings a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and services for Broadcast and other technology companies to the Media Solutions division
Sony Professional Solutions Europe has today announced the appointment of Richard Scott as its Head of Media Solutions, to accelerate principal solutions and services growth.
Scott joins a strong European leadership team, headed up by Adam Fry, Vice President of Sony Professional Solutions Europe, who previously held this position. Scott brings with him over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and services within Broadcast, Production, Media Distribution, IT and Security companies.
The strategic appointment is a key part of Sony's on-going transformation to a company recognised both for its broadcast hardware to one also providing solutions through a range of products and services. Scott will lead the business division to deliver on its solutions strategy for media companies, ensuring Sony continues to develop a market-leading portfolio, which addresses current and future customer needs.
Scott brings significant expertise in service and IT based platforms, most recently at Irdeto, alongside his C-level customer relationships. His appointment will bolster Sony's delivery of its services and solutions mandate. With vast experience overseeing sales and marketing divisions with complex routes to market and a diverse portfolio of products and services, Scott will assume overall responsibility in managing Sony's future customer engagement.

And as Sony transitions to a true solutions business, combining both products and services, there will be even more opportunities to help overcome the challenges our customers are facing.
Scott offers a truly global perspective, with vast experience managing teams and customers from all continents and cultures. He joins from the digital platform security company Irdeto, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President Global Sales and Services at Harris Broadcast. Scott has also previously held positions at Panasonic Broadcast Europe and Ascent Media, as well as having worked at Sony early in his career.
