PlayBox Technology reports a highly successful IBC2013 with serious enquiries from over 500 companies.
IBC coincided with our 13,200th TV and Branding channel around the globe which sets us far ahead of our competitors and proves that we remain the number one choice both for established broadcasters and new business ventures, comments Managing Partner and Director, Sales, Don Ash. This is proof that we have the best system strategists, the best software designers, the best hardware engineers plus the best sales and marketing team in the entire business. The internet looks set to play an increasingly important role in broadcasting, both for catch-up television services and as a catalyst for new channels which may sooner or later expand from the web into direct-to-home satellite transmission.
IBC itself continues to attract visitors from a very wide catchment area, adds CEO Vassil Lefterov. Stand traffic was particularly strong on the Sunday and Monday. Our dealer meeting at the Hard Rock Caf on the Saturday evening was well attended and including members of the broadcast press. Our message both at this meeting and during the show was the very high reliability of PlayBox Technology systems. Every new channel installed is covered by a full support guarantee. And we keep very careful track of any takeup. Only 2 per cent of installations over the past year have actually required post-installation attention. This is a great tribute to skill and efficiency of the entire PlayBox Technology team.
We received 10% more scans than 2012 coming from over 500 different companies during the course of the show, details UK Sales Director Ben Gunkel. The majority of visitors arrived with a serious agenda rather than just casual enquiries. There was a lot more interest from the IPTV side than in previous years, with a particular focus on Multi Playout Manager (MPM) which allows internet-based monitoring and control of multiple channels. The newly-announced NewsRoomBox next-generation newsroom computer system attracted a lot of attention, as did the new additions to our scheduling solution, ScheduleBox. People came knowing our product lineup and wanting demonstrations of our new web-based solutions. Every exhibitor hopes a show will generate orders. IBC2013 certainly achieved that for us.
