The Anticipated Film 24 Hours with Gaspar' Coming to Netflix on March 14, 2024

The long-anticipated Indonesian film 24 Hours with Gaspar, directed by Yosep Anggi Noen, will start streaming on Netflix on March 14, 2024. This dystopian crime drama, based on the novel of the same name by Indonesian author Sabda Armandio, stars Reza Rahadian, Laura Basuki, Shenina Cinnamon, Sal Priadi, Dewi Irawan, and Kristo Immanuel.
The film received nine nominations at the 2023 Indonesian Film Festival, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress (Dewi Irawan), and Best Adapted Screenplay (M. Irfan Ramli). It won the Citra trophy for the latter category.
24 Hours with Gaspar is produced by Visinema Pictures and KawanKawan Media, with executive producer Angga Dwimas Sasongko, an acclaimed director known for films such as Letter from Prague and One Day We'll Talk About Today. The film premiered globally at the 28th Busan International Film Festival on October 6, 2023, also competing for the festival's Kim Jiseok Award. The story follows the life of private detective Gaspar, who has only 24 hours to live. He discovers clues leading to the mysterious disappearance of Kirana, a childhood friend, and later to Wan Ali, who's involved in a human trafficking syndicate. Gaspar, along with five other people, plans to rob a jewelry store in the last hours of his life.
Producer Yulia Evina Bhara says, We're thrilled for the chance to share this exceptional film, especially with a story that's unique and set in the near distant future of Indonesia. With the film available globally on Netflix, we hope that audiences from around the world will enjoy the movie, allowing us to further showcase how Indonesian stories can travel globally.
Reza Rahadian adds, Portraying Gaspar has been thrilling and it is one of the most unique roles I've ever played, providing ample room for exploration. After introducing the film in several countries, I eagerly anticipate sharing this story with a broader audience worldwide through Netflix.
24 Hours with Gaspar will also screen at the Singapore International Film Festival on December 4, 2023, and the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which will take place from November 30 to December 9, 2023.
