Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White Unite in London for an Exclusive Spotify Conversation and Film Preview

Rock legend Bruce Springsteen and luminary actor Jeremy Allen White came together last night at Spotify's London HQ for their first joint appearance in the UK. The exclusive event gave top Spotify fans an early look at Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the forthcoming film that explores the creation of Springsteen's influential 1982 album Nebraska. Nebraska itself is getting a rerelease, Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition, timed to the movie premiere.

In an intimate conversation, Bruce and Jeremy opened up about the emotional depth of the record, the creative choices behind the film, and the connection between vulnerability and artistry. Fans in the room heard firsthand accounts of a pivotal period in The Boss' career and how the actor approached portraying one of music's most enduring icons.

As you get older, you take more risks in your work and in life in general, said Bruce on the decision to bring this chapter of his life to the big screen. [Director] Scott [Cooper] had a really good grasp of the kind of film I'd be interested in-not a standard musical biopic, but a character-driven drama with music.

I was the only pretender onstage. Everyone else-Greta Van Fleet, the New Jersey extras-were the real thing, said Jeremy on playing Bruce. At first, singing Bruce's songs was intimidating. But I found confidence in the booth that was the first time I really felt close to Bruce.

A milestone moment For fans, the night was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hear from Bruce himself and from the actor reinterpreting his legacy on-screen. For Spotify, it was a celebration of discovery, generational connection, and the timeless power of storytelling through music.

There's a section of the film where we go back to the house I grew up in. It was quite a miracle. It's a home I still visit regularly in my dreams, said Bruce. My sister held my hand throughout the film and said, Isn't it wonderful that we have this?'

The room was packed with Bruce's top listeners on Spotify, but for anybody not lucky enough to be there, the full conversation between the two will be available to watch only on Spotify beginning October 20.

Reflecting on more than five decades of electrifying live performances, Bruce said, You create an ideal world for three hours. Not a fantasy world, but a credible one. It has all the wonderful and terrible parts of life.

The event also coincided with a broader cultural trend. Since mid-July 2025, user-generated playlists tagged dad rock have increased by 78%, with Bruce emerging as a central figure in the genre's resurgence. More than 80 million user-created playlists on Spotify now include at least one of his songs.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theaters on October 24.
