Madrid, January 19th 2021 - Dark humor, a healthy serving of action and pure adrenaline. That is the promise of Sky Rojo, the new title from Netflix that will premiere worldwide on March 19. The first season adopts a truly innovative format for a drama series, with eight 25-minute episodes and a mix of genres that lex Pina and Esther Mart nez Lobato (Money Heist), its creators, have dubbed Latin pulp'.

The stars of Sky Rojo, Coral (Ver nica S nchez), Wendy (Lali Esp sito) and Gina (Yany Prado) go on the run in search of freedom while being chased by Romeo (Asier Etxeandia), their pimp from Las Novias Club, and his henchmen, Mois s (Miguel ngel Silvestre) and Christian (Enric Auquer). Together, the women embark on a frantic, chaotic journey during which they must face dangers of all kinds and live every second as if it were their last, while strengthening their friendship and discovering the most important thing: that together they are stronger and have more options to recover their lives.

We wanted Sky Rojo to have the same frenetic action as always, but to use that 25-minute runtime to underline the dynamic nature of the plot: the getaway, the race for survival. The third act of a movie or an episode is where all the energy converges to produce the most vibrant explosion of all the conflicts that are being narrated. What we set out to do was to make a constant third act, to funnel our entire story through that frenzied energy , say lex Pina and Esther Mart nez Lobato.

Filmed on location in Madrid and Tenerife, Sky Rojo has two confirmed eight-episode seasons. The series is produced by Vancouver Media for Netflix and its international cast is headed by Ver nica S nchez (The Pier, 13 Roses), Asier Etxeandia (Pain and Glory, Velvet), Miguel ngel Silvestre (Velvet, Sense8), the Argentinean singer and actress Lali Esp sito (Casi ngeles, Esperanza M a), Cuban actress Yany Prado (La doble vida de Estela Carrillo, La reina soy yo) and Enric Auquer (La l nea invisible, Perfect Life).

lex Pina and Esther Mart nez Lobato are the creators and executive producers of Sky Rojo alongside Jes s Colmenar, with support from co-executive producers David Barrocal, Migue Amoedo and David Victori. The new original series is directed by Jes s Colmenar, scar Pedraza, David Victori, Albert Pint , Javier Quintas and Eduardo Chapero-Jackson. The scriptwriting team is made up of lex Pina, Esther Mart nez Lobato, David Barrocal, David Oliva, Javier G mez Santander, Juan Salvador L pez and Mercedes Rodrigo. Migue Amoedo has taken the lead as cinematographer alongside David Azcano and David Acereto, while Juan L pez Olivar and Cristina L pez Ferraz are heading up production management.
