Come Dine With Me South Africa returns with a new season every Wednesday starting 12 October at 20:00 on BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174).

COME DINE WITH ME SOUTH AFRICA' SEASON EIGHT Serving up the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly over the past 11 years, Come Dine with Me South Africa is back with a brand-new season. With almost 2000 filming days across eight seasons and 1200 courses served, the critically acclaimed hit is returning to screens on Wednesday 12th October on BBC Lifestyle (DStv channel 174) at 20:00. The season is narrated once again by the voiceover legend Dave Lamb.

Fans can once again look forward to the popular show format, which follows four home cooks as they each host a three-course dinner party for the other contestants at their own homes. Competitors then rate the host's food and hosting skills at the end of each evening, with the highest-scoring entertainer winning a R10 000 cash prize.

Season eight brings 12 new episodes featuring the most dynamic, energetic and eccentric contestants. From contending with a spot' of load shedding leading, boiling potatoes on the braai, a foot' 'Show & Tell'' and uniquely entertaining party tricks. This season's contestants are bringing the heat to show off their skills in the hopes of taking home the cash prize.

MEET THE VIBRANT PERSONALITIES From Johannesburg based animal lover, Melanie nicknamed the Zookeeper, whose backyard is filled with 80 Koi fish, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs. And her bestie Peppa the pig to self-proclaimed perfectionist (there's always one!), foodie and home executive Qudsiya there's a host of personalities to keep things interesting throughout the season.

WHAT'S ON THE COME DINE WITH ME' MENU? From a Driehoek Kaaskoek gone wrong to Indian and Asian cuisine, watch the contestants attempt to whip up exotic dishes. These include,

Teriyaki Salmon and Wasbi mash

More traditional South African dishes such as Kurri Kitchri which is assembled with many, many elements; Saffron rice, with a yoghurt and herb gravy, served with sweet and spicy pumpkin, a spice infused green pepper chutney, elevated aloo fry, fried spicy Eggplant, with roasted lamb.
