The SVG College Sports Summit is now less than a week away, and SVG has assembled a distinguished group of college sports-video experts and television executives as speakers to share their expertise with the industry.

Leading up to the two-day event, SVG is checking in with key members of the program to discuss their involvement and what they hope the Summit will accomplish, as well as to impart some initial pieces of advice.
Scott Rinehart is one of the newest members of the Notre Dame family. After a distinguished career at NASCAR, he moved to South Bend last year as lead technologist and has taken part in building Fighting Irish Digital Media, a major implementation of a full on-campus production entity. At the SVG College Sports Summit, he will be joined by his colleagues Dan Skendzel and Alan Wasielewski to take attendees on an inside look at the new operation and what lessons have been learned in the early going.
Why are you involved with the SVG College Sports Summit?
The event gives me the chance to network with my peers, to get to know them better, and share ideas on how to improve what we do. Plus, visiting with the sponsors in a much calmer atmosphere than NAB is a great opportunity to think through how they can help me do a better job for my fans.
In what ways have you seen the SVG College Sports Summit evolve with the rapidly changing climate of college sports?
Just look at the growth in the number of attendees each year and at the topics presented. It is very clear that SVG and the membership have their finger on the pulse of what is important in the college and university world.
What are you most looking forward to at this year's Summit?
Vendor meetings and, of course, the keynote address.
You are presenting a case study on Fighting Irish Digital Media. What can attendees look forward to in that discussion? What lessons are there to be learned for other schools?
It'll be an interesting discussion about how we went into the season with well defined plans for a celebratory year (125 years of football) and program offerings, then how we had to become very nimble and adjust our plans to reflect the team's successful run to the BCS Championship Game.
The SVG College Sports Summit (May 29-30, Hyatt Regency, Atlanta) is the top professional-networking event for learning about anything and everything in collegiate sports production.
