Powerful 12-channel hardware sequencer announced

Cre8audio are renowned for their innovative, and often visually striking, designs and although their latest bit of kit may look a little more restrained than the likes of the Boom Chick and West Pest, it certainly packs in a lot of functionality. Said to be the result of the company's lead designer trying out an array of hardware sequencers and feeling they all made some sort of compromise, the Programm promises to deliver the ultimate sequencing experience for just about any setup.

Capable of functioning as a standalone device or Eurorack module, the new arrival boasts 12 independent sequencing channels and offers MIDI, CV and gate connectivity. When using MIDI, all 12 sequencers can be used with pitched or drum/percussion-based instruments; for CV and gate setups, two of the sequencers are dedicated to pitched instruments, with eight more serving as drum triggers.

Aiming to account for all preferences, the module allows for real-time playing, step-based programming and random pattern generation. There's a keyboard mode that locks the top-panel buttons to a user-selected scale, and for those who already have a preferred input device, external MIDI controllers are supported. Once a pattern is up and running, the Programm boasts a wide variety of tools for tweaking and modifying it, with dedicated parameters provided for the likes of pitch, gate length, ratcheting, CV/CC, note offset and more.
