Imagine Communications to Showcase Latest Innovations at Broadcast India

NOIDA, INDIA, October 13, 2015 Imagine Communications, a global leader in video and advertising solutions serving the media and entertainment, multichannel video programming distributors and enterprise markets, will feature solutions targeting the needs of broadcasters and content owners in this time of transition at Broadcast India 2015 (15 17 October, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai). The transition from traditional, realtime broadcast hardware and connectivity to IP-centric solutions is now firmly established, said Joe Khodeir, senior vice president of Asia Pacific at Imagine Communications. But we must not lose sight of the fact that today's broadcasters and content producers want to work efficiently, accurately and creatively today, as well as fully protect recent infrastructure investments. Our presentations at Broadcast India will show real, proven and practical products which can be implemented now and deliver tangible benefits, and which also provide the foundation for the IP future.
Imagine Communications will be displaying playout and branding solutions at Broadcast India 2015. The latest version of Versio , unveiled at the recent IBC exhibition, is a ground-breaking advance in integrated playout. This 100% software solution is capable of operating in baseband, IP or hybrid SDI/IP environments, and is equally well suited to implementation on dedicated playout appliances, on virtual machines on in-house data centres, and in the cloud. In combination with the new Versio MCS touch-screen controller, it provides simple user intervention when required, and full automation at other times.
In a multichannel world, clear and consistent branding is vital to inform and retain audiences. The Nexio Channelbrand from Imagine Communications features cross-platform animation building, allowing a single set of graphics templates to be populated and delivered for any device. Channelbrand also allows the automation of secondary events like bugs and crawls, both for branding and in conjunction with the Landmark advertising management platform for advertising and sponsorship, creating new revenue opportunities.
Providing a coherent approach to linear and nonlinear multiscreen distribution are the latest versions of SelenioFlex Live and SelenioFlex File. SelenioFlex Live provides superior live encoding for high-value applications, from live event streaming to over-the-top (OTT) delivery of linear channels. Both solutions provide multiple codec outputs, including HEVC ABR transcoding, realtime HD HEVC encoding and high-quality linear compression. The SelenioFlex platform provides a single point of transcoding and management, including dynamic advertising replacement and predictive business intelligence, to maximise revenues from cross-platform, linear and nonlinear delivery.
A featured product is the latest addition to the Platinum router line, the Platinum VX digital video router. Designed as a mid-sized digital router (up to 288 x 288), it combines the industry's leading innovations in density, reliability and fully-redundant HD-SDI routing, while drawing on the enhanced capabilities of the Platinum platform.
While the transition to IP is going on, there is still a need for traditional products like digital routers, explained Khodeir. But these products have to deliver absolutely bullet-proof, install-and-forget reliability, along with excellent cost efficiency. The new Platinum VX is a great example of that philosophy, and is a good complement to our next-gen solutions.
The industry in India is hugely vibrant, and its engineering and operational professionals are keen to see and understand the latest offerings, he added. We see Broadcast India as a really significant opportunity to get feedback on the thinking of the industry in this market, as a way of ensuring that our development plans are clearly in line with expectations.
