Transmiion For Jay Z Made In America

The Exchange CEO Brian OShea, announced today that Australian distributor, Transmission Films acquired distribution rights of Ron Howards JAY Zs MADE IN AMERICA for Australia and New Zealand.

MADE IN AMERICA premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and is produced by Imagine Entertainment, Marcy Media, Radical Media, in association with Participant Media.

The deal was brokered by Andrew Mackie of Transmission Films and Brian OShea of The Exchange.

MADE IN AMERICA follows rap superstar Jay Z through the planning of an unprecedented concert event and features world famous musicians including, Drake, Pearl Jam, Run DMC, The Hive, Passion Pit, Calvin Harris, Janelle Mon e and Skrillex.

The Budweiser Made in America Festival grossed $5 million in ticket sales and injected more than $10 million into the Philadelphia economy, stimulating businesses struggling through recession. Nearly 80,000 people attended the Festival, which was curated and planned entirely by Jay Z, who also headlined the concert. This was documented through performance footage and backstage interviews captured by director Ron Howard and produced by the Academy Award winning Brian Grazer.

MADE IN AMERICA tells the story of rapper turned mogul Jay Zs journey to planning a genre-defying festival intended to uplift the American people in the depths of an economic recession. Held in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American Independence, Jay Zs eclectic taste brought together culture and music, featuring performers from all genres of music, including electronic, pop, hip hop, rock and folk. Howards raw concert footage gives life to epic cross-genre performances, including Run DMCs first live performance since the death of DJ Jam Master Jay in 2002, accompanied by Pearl Jams Eddie Vedder.
