Kaizer Chiefs news: Solinas wanted to sign out-of-favour Bucs defender

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Giovanni Solinas had his sights set on out-of-favour Orlando Pirates defender, Justice Chabalala, Goal reports.

The Italian was relieved of his duties in December last year, a little less than a month before the transfer window was set to open.

According to Chabalala's agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, Solinas who had coached the player at Free State Stars was keen on a reunio.

There was interest in Justice last year from Chiefs. They were still under the guidance of Solinas at the time. He [Solinas] worked with Chalalala at Free State Stars, Mulovhedzi told Goal.

However, Solinas left the club a month before the transfer window, and Justice remained at Pirates where he is still happy.

Justice is committed to Pirates, and he will continue to fight for his place in the starting line-up until his contract expires at the end of the season. We are waiting for Pirates to discuss his future.''

Chabalala has not featured for Orlando Piratess this season after making just seven league appearances in the previous campaign.

Having arrived at the club in the 2016/17 season from Free State Stars, the defender was loaned out to Chippa United midway through the Buccaneers wretched campaign which saw them achieve their worst finish in the PSL era.

With the arrival of Serbian mentor, Milutin Sredojevic, the player has fallen further down the pecking order, with the arrival of the likes of Brazilian youngster Ciao Marcelo de Silva, Bulelani Ndengane and Marshall Munetsi.
