Teradici Expands Support for Wacom Pen Displays and Tablets for Creative Professionals

Teradici , the creator of industry-leading PCoIP technology and Cloud Access Software, has expanded support for Wacom products in its latest release of Cloud Access Software. With the new release, Teradici has added support for medium and large Wacom Intuos Pro tablets with Linux clients connecting to remote workstations and is pleased to offer both Windows and Linux client support for the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 creative pen display.

Teradici's support for the premium Cintiq Pro 24 is a significant advantage for professional artists working remotely with digital images and video hosted in on-premises data centers or clouds.

Tools like the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 are invaluable to professional digital artists, and being able to use them without impacting performance on a remote workstation is key to ensuring their efficiency as more studios shift their production to a virtualized environment in the data center or public cloud, said Ziad Lammam, vice president of product management for Teradici. With Teradici's expanded Wacom product support, including unique technology that provides immediate visual feedback in high-latency environments, artists can continue to use the tools and workflows they need remotely without sacrificing performance.

The Wacom Cintiq Pro line is designed to enable creative professionals to work intuitively on screen in a variety of digital formats, including illustration, photography, video editing, animation, 3D modeling, and virtual reality. As these artists are frequently working with large files, any latency in updates between the display and the remote file location can lead to errors and frustration. At the same time, creative studios often need to maintain file storage in centralized locations to meet operational and security requirements.

Teradici's PCoIP technology, built into Cloud Access Software, encrypts and securely transmits only pixels to the artist's display with no noticeable lag in display performance, meaning an artist's brushstroke shows up on screen immediately, even if available bandwidth is low. This provides a seamless working environment for artists regardless of their location, while maintaining streamlined, secure workflows for creative studios. Teradici first integrated a specific solution for Wacom users into its PCoIP protocol for zero clients several years ago, and more recently expanded its support for using Wacom devices with Cloud Access Software for Windows clients in release 2019.08.
