ITV celebrates Cillas 50 years in showbusiness
Cilla Black OBE is one of Britain's most successful and much loved entertainers who this year celebrates 50 years in showbusiness. ITV will honour this unique milestone with a one off Entertainment special to air this Autumn.
The show called The One & Only Cilla Black' will star Cilla herself and be hosted by Paul O' Grady.
ITV's Queen of Saturday night TV for over two decades. Cillas glittering career has seen a string of UK chart hits, international concert tours and her own variety show.
The show will celebrate all things Cilla including a special trip back to Liverpool where it all started, a host of celebrity friends and some surprise music guests. Cilla will also pay homage to one of her biggest TV hits Blind Date with the return of its most popular contestants.
Cilla Black says "I cant believe its been 50 years since I started this incredible journey. Ive made some wonderful friends over the years and experienced some magical moments. Im thrilled to be back at ITV to celebrate these in a special one off entertainment show".
The One & Only Cilla Black has been commissioned by John Kaye Cooper, ITV's Controller of Entertainment. John Kaye Cooper says "Cilla is a true star, a nation icon and a wonderful entertainer. I'm absolutely thrilled we're honouring Cilla in this one off special celebrating her 50 years in showbiz. For over two decades she was the heartbeat of Saturday night entertainment on ITV
