The City & The City Wins Two RTS Craft and Design Awards Company News November 28, 2018

The City & The City wins two awards at RTS Craft & Design Awards.

Costume Designer Marianne Agertoft and Production Designer Simon Rogers were both winners of 2018 RTS Craft & Design Awards for their work on Mammoth Screen's The City and The City.

Lee Connolly, Chair, Craft & Design Awards says: The jury has had some extremely hard decisions to make this year, with the range of outstanding programming being made in the UK. We are excited to celebrate both UK content and talent this evening and award the well-deserved winners.

The jury said about Marianne Agertoft for the Drama Costume Design on The City and The City:

this category was full of wildly differing entries that made for heated debate. The costume design in the winning programme drew us into two new worlds with a sinister yet familiar feel. Both populated with timeless characterful representations of real and relatable personalities achieved with skilful layering of textures and colour that achieved a cohesive and visually exciting design.

The jury said about Simon Rogers for Drama Production Design on The City and The City:

these were bold, atmospheric and confident designs which were very well executed, with an excellent attention to detail and dressing.

The winners were revealed at a prestigious awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane, which was hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen. The RTS Craft & Design Awards recognise excellence in broadcast television in 29 categories from Directing to Make Up Design.
