Mountain Maraon race held in Jiangbei

As one of the only two mountain marathon races in China, Ningbo Mountain Marathon Race kicked off at 8am yesterday in the Cicheng New Town of Jiangbei District, attracting 3500 marathon athletes or amateurs from home and abroad.

The 2015 Ningbo Mountain Marathon Race, co-hosted by Jiangbei District Government, Ningbo Municipal Sports Bureau, and Cicheng Ancient Town Development & Construction Co. Ltd., is the first registered marathon event of the year for China Field & Track Association. A total of 3500 runners participated in the race in four teams, namely the whole-marathon team, the half-marathon team, the experience team and the group team, with nearly 600 participants from outside Zhejiang Province and over 40 from abroad. The top six of the whole-marathon team and the top eight of the half-marathon team (both male and female) will directly be qualified to attend the 2015 Hangzhou Marathon Race. The race track, integrating such landscapes as the mountains, lakes, the great canal, the ancient town and the new town in the Cicheng Town, appeals to the runners. To promote the filial piety culture, the organizing committee will donate all the money (over 40,000 yuan) raised by the event to the "Sunset Fitness Fund" public welfare program in Jiangbei District to encourage the senior citizens to participate in the physical fitness activities.

Eventually, Chu Zehui (male) from Luting Town of Yuyao County and Xu Xiaohong (female) got the first place in the whole-marathon team with the final results of 3"1619 and 4"1552 respectively.
