Olympic champions handed over the Cheering Hearts to those heading for Rio
Already more than 650 thousand Cheering Heartbeats
On the occasion of the more than two decades long cooperation and the International Olympic Day, the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB) and Magyar Telekom held a joint press conference. At the event Borkai Zsolt , president of MOB said that more than 150 Hungarian athletes, representing 20-22 sport disciplines can participate at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and this number exceeds that of the delegation at the Games in London. Currently the Hungarian Olympic Committee numbers 154 athletes, and this can increase further as qualification only closes in early July for track and field athletes and swimmers.
The president of MOB said about the cooperation between Magyar Telekom and the Hungarian Olympic Committee, being of key importance: Sponsors are needed for the successful operation of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the successful preparation of the Hungarian Team, if the government considers and funds sports as a strategic area. As the Platinum level sponsor of the Hungarian Team, Telekom is a key partner of the Hungarian Olympic movement. I trust that this beneficial cooperation continues at least until the Budapest Olympics.
Supporting the Hungarian Olympic movement is imminently important among sport sponsorship activities of Telekom - was said at the press conference. We are especially proud that Magyar Telekom - as Platinum sponsor - supports the preparation of the Hungarian team already for the sixth time. This year we applied technology for fans to send their messages directly to Olympic athletes heading for Rio, through the Telekom Cheering heart solution - said Christopher Mattheisen, CEO of Magyar Telekom.
NEW INDIVIDUAL ATHLETES SUPPORTED BY TELEKOM
As the largest ICT provider in Hungary, Telekom has been a committed supporter of Hungarian sports: as sponsor the company could contribute to the excellent achievements of numerous Hungarian disciplines, teams and athletes. The announcement made at the press event outlined that the more than 20 years old MOB-Telekom cooperation becomes even more intense with the Ferencv ros football team, the Telekom Veszpr m handball team, the individual sponsorship of Cseh L szl and Ad mi Zsanett world record holder para-swimmer, Gyurta D niel Olympic and world record holder swimmer, Kammerer Zolt n Olympic and world champion in kayak, as well as Szil gyi Lili na junior Olympic and European champion swimmer.
CHEERING HEART - COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THE SUCCESSES
On the token of preparing for the Olympics and supporting the very best of Hungarian sports, Telekom handed over special heart shaped Cheering Hearts to the athletes heading for the Summer Olympic Games: Cseh L szl , Gyurta D niel, Szil gyi Lili na (swimming), Csernoviczki va (judo), Kov cs Zs fia (gymnastics), Marosi d m (pentathlon), P ni Istv n and Tobai Sike Ren ta (sport shooting), Zsivoczky-Farkas Gy ngyi (heptathlon) received the application broadcasting cheering live.
As a special feature of the ceremony, former Olympic champions - Berki Kriszti n, Borkai Zsolt, Dr. Hammerl L szl , Dr. Hesz Mih ly, Kov cs gnes, Kov cs Kok Istv n, Dr. Magyar Zolt n - handed over the special hearts: symbolizing the support and cheering of the Hungarian sports community.
With the Cheering Heart anyone in Hungary can express support and cheering to athletes and teams participating at the Olympics, helping them in excelling in their discipline. Athletes immediately sense the heartbeat, as they carry the hearts to training, as well as during the Olympics. Whenever a heartbeat is sent, the Cheering Heart vibrates and flashes, indicating that many at home are thinking of them. A heartbeat can be sent in numerous ways: using #egyekvagyunk, by sending a message or pushing a button on internet site egyekvagyunk.hu, as well as by shaking their smartphones.
The success of the Cheering Heart is underlined as the supporters of the Hungarian football team already sent more than 650 thousand heartbeats to their favorites. The number of heartbeats is expected to grow dynamically as we get closer to the Olympic games.
Telekom developed extraordinary discounts for its customers, as international sports event are getting closer. The unique Magenta1 scheme is offered, as well as doubled data for Next and Next Business subscribers, to follow and share sport events. Post paid subscribers of the Telekom TV can follow the matches anywhere on mobile, without paying any extra data usage fee on mobile, with TV GO.
