Inspiring Sustainability Stories Leading Up to Global Climate Summit COP28

At Netflix, we're doing our part to make the industry more sustainable by meeting our science-based climate ambitions and highlighting our 200+ Sustainability Stories. In honor of this years annual climate summit COP28, watch and get inspired by these 10 recent Netflix shows and movies with sustainability-related storylines.
The Fall of the House of Usher Based on works by Edgar Allan Poe, this wicked series follows a family dynasty that crumbles when its heirs mysteriously begin to die. The series explores a range of horrors, from murders to drug epidemics to hazardous environmental crimes.
Happiness for Beginners Helen (played by actress Ellie Kemper) has always lived her life as far from the edge as possible. Newly divorced, she joins a quirky group of strangers on a survival course for the Adventure of a Lifetime with the hope of learning how to live - and love - again. The group gains a new appreciation for nature, and how to treat it with respect as they backpack through the woods. High on the Hog Season 2 This documentary series traces the moving story of a peoples survival and triumph via the food that has knit generations together and helped define the American kitchen. It shines a light on broken food systems and how African-American food pioneers have fought to make them more equitable and sustainable.
Leo Adam Sandler voices a lizard named Leo in this coming-of-age animated film about the last year of elementary school as seen through the eyes of a class pet. In the film, students are amazed at Leo's fun lizard qualities, strengthening their relationship to the natural world.
Life On Our Planet Narrated by Morgan Freeman, Life on Our Planet takes viewers on a remarkable four billion-year journey, chronicling the extraordinary story of lifes evolution, from its miraculous beginnings to the breathtaking world we inhabit today. This epic series portrays the fight for survival during Earth's past five mass extinction events and signals warnings for the impending sixth mass extinction, the first in history to be created by humankind. Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones The documentary series tells the story of how National Geographic Fellow and New York Times best-selling author Dan Buettner discovered the Blue Zones. Blue Zones are select areas of the world where people live to 100 years old and more with consistent lifestyle patterns. The lifestyle that leads to living long, happy and healthy lives happens to be sustainable too!
NYAD The film tells the remarkable true story of athlete Diana Nyad (played by Annette Bening) who, at the age of 60 and with the help of her best friend and coach Bonnie Stoll (played by Jodie Foster), commits to achieving her life-long dream: a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida.
