Television submissions for the Art Directors Guild (ADG) 19th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards are set to open on October 7, 2014. This years awards will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The official announcement came from John Shaffner, ADG Council Chairman and ADG award producers Dave Blass and James Pearse Connelly.
Submission deadline is November 6, 2014. The Art Directors branch first votes to determine the nominations. The second round of voting to determine the winners in all categories will be open to voting by the entire active ADG membership. Nominations for ADGs Excellence in Production Design Awards will be announced January 5, 2015. The ADG will present winners in 11 competitive categories representing theatrical films, television productions, commercials and music videos.
As previously announced, the ADG Council has expanded its honorary Lifetime Achievement Awards to annually include members selected from all four of its crafts. Emmy -winning and Oscar -nominated Production Designer Jim Bissell has been voted this years recipient of the ADG Councils Lifetime Achievement honor. The additional Lifetime Achievement Awards honorees from the other crafts - Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists; Illustrators and Matte Artists; Set Designers and Model Makers - will be announced in the near future. Comedian Owen Benjamin is set to host.
The ADG Excellence in Production Design Awards are open only to productions, when made within the U.S., by producers signatory to the IATSE agreement. Foreign entries are acceptable without restrictions.
