WRAL Closes November Ratings Period as the #1 Local News Station

WRAL News Tops Ratings in Raleigh-Durham Market as the Most Watched Local News

The results are in for the 2019 November Nielsen ratings period, and WRAL (Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville DMA) has once again clinched its position as the Triangles top news station with the overall most watched newscasts in the market.

WRAL News topped the local ratings with wins in the advertiser-coveted P25-54 demo audience and in overall households (HH) across many time periods. This includes the WRAL Morning News at 6am, which is a known competitive time period throughout the market. WRAL ratings continue to grow even with Nielsens new PPM ratings system for television. The WRAL News at 10pm on FOX 50 also grew to take over the #2 spot in late news, behind only WRAL News at 11pm.

This is due to exceptional journalism from the WRAL News team, dynamic storytelling using the new WRAL News set, expansive digital content on wral.com, and point of difference weather coverage from the WRAL Severe Weather Team.

WRAL ended the rating period with viewers tuning in for their 46th annual broadcast of the Raleigh Christmas Parade, making it the most watched in the Triangle and the most watched program on any station that entire day.
