At the IBC Show, taking place in Amsterdam from September 12-17, Vizrt will have several Viz Artist real-time 3D modeling and animation workstations running on the new NVIDIA GRID Visual Computing Appliance (VCA) and Viz Engine real-time video and graphics compositing systems running on NVIDIA GRID within its IBC booth (Hall 7/Stand A10) and at NVIDIA's IBC booth (Hall 7/Stand J39.)

Viz Artist on GRID VCA

NVIDIA GRID VCA is an appliance designed to enable rich graphics creation in virtualized environments. Up to 8 concurrent users can share the same appliance with workstation performance and Quadro compatibility. NVIDIA GRID is a GPU solution where multiple users can share a single GPU, improving user density while providing true PC performance and compatibility. With both solutions client computers can be off-the-shelf PC, Mac OS X, or Linux systems, with no special GPU or CPU providing new possibilities on how Viz Engine and Viz Artist can be used in a private cloud.

An NVIDIA GRID-powered Viz Artist workstation removes the need for a high-capacity local workstation, and makes it possible for a design department to have Viz Artist on every desktop.

NVIDIA GRID enables us to have up to 8 independent Viz Engines with NVIDIA Quadro power in a 4 unit rack mount chassis said Gerhard Lang, Chief Engineering Officer of Vizrt. Whether this setup is used for IP streaming or as a frame server for Viz NLE clients, never have more Viz Engines worked in a smaller form factor and been more cost effective.
