Nauka Telecom deploys RGB for OTT services

Russian service provider Nauka Telecom has selected RGB Networks' Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG) and TransAct Packager to deliver its over-the-top (OTT) video services. Accommodating viewers using Apple HLS and Adobe HDS devices, Nauka Telecom plans to roll out 108 broadcast channels, each equipped with four profiles.

The carrier-class VMG works in tandem with the critical adaptive streaming functionalities of the TransAct Packager to deliver content to any IP-enabled device. Nauka Telecom chose RGB's solutions with the aim of overcoming the processing demands behind the delivery of its OTT services, and without impacting heavily on network bandwidth or content quality.

The boom in content being consumed on video-enabled devices, both large and small, shows no sign of slowing, said Pavel Cherepnin, head of development at Nauka Telecom. To ensure we keep out in front of the competition, and continue to deliver premium entertainment content to our OTT subscribers, we needed to source the most scalable multi-stream IP processing solution available. By performing a host of versatile tasks simultaneously via an integrated platform, RGB's combined offering provided us with the most comprehensive means of satisfying our needs.
