StarSat offers affordable new line-up --

By 1 January 2014 digital satellite TV brand, StarSat, aims to have more than 100 channels on air including documentary, sports and international news content.
StarSat, previously TopTV, has been re-launched by pay television platform On Digital Media (ODM) with the tagline: Change your View.
Eddie Mbalo, CEO of ODM says: We believe the South African market comprises mature television audiences who know what they want from their subscription, and expect diversity of content to go hand in hand with value for money, which is what we are offering.
As well as providing its own channels such as Star Gospel, Star Novela, Star Chinese, Star Africa and Star Bollywood HD, the platform will also feature NatGeo Gold, the NBA Channel, BBC World, Al Jazeera English, Fox News and Bloomberg Television. These additions will be made to subscriber packages once the channels have been phased in.
Says Mbalo of the new pricing structure: The new structure offers more channels per package, and at more competitive prices. Instead of a range of different permutations of packages we have a new, simplified structure that ultimately offers better viewing value.
The StarSat Special which offers 47 channels at R99 per month; StarSat Smart which offers 67 channels at R149 per month; and StarSat Super offers 81 channels for R 199 per month are some of the new packages that have been introduced.
Add-on packages that include StarSat Indian at R99 per month for 9 channels, and StarSat Chinese at R149 per month for 17 Chinese channels will also be available.
