Having been welcomed back into society, having paid my dues within the four walls, it was time to engage in the rat race. Life like this was never going to be easy. Nothing is, especially if it's worthwhile.

Self-Esteem I lack self-confidence, and a significant result of this low self-esteem is paranoia. How does one reconstruct a life that has been challenged? Be brave and honest. Brave enough to take on challenges and strong enough to be truly honest with oneself and the world. My best effort needs support to find my peak, or my mojo, which is never an easy task. Gaining momentum or navigating through it requires discipline. I often wonder why the lifestyle I once led could be an option again. Then my true self reminds me to respect the laws governing society. In prison, we are trained to walk the line; in the outside world, my task is to toe the line. Represent myself, obey the law, and excel at being respectful. Productivity is key for resourcefulness, sharpness, and affluence. Another skill to develop is coping with life on life's terms.

Life on Life's Terms Acceptance doesn't mean giving up hope. It's the first step to acknowledging and abstracting my circumstances. I accept and admit that dangerous behaviour will always challenge my resilience. So, I am rightfully fearful. Time is not a factor, as life deals both good and bad hands. I need to apply myself to the task because I have goals and ambitions. I want to thrive and be happy, to provide for and be supported by my loved ones.

Reach Out Reaching out is not a sign of weakness. It's about being strong and vulnerable enough to confront challenges head-on. I have doubts, often, and the best approach is to ask for help. There is no shame in needing assistance.

I am aiming to be bigger and better in '24. With pride and dignity!
