Vote for Soak & win a trip to Winter Music Festival Eurosonic
On 13 January 2016 the Dutch city of Groningen plays host to the annual European Boarder Breakers Awards, a televised event hosted by Jools Holland that celebrates Europe's best new music. The date also marks the beginning of the Eurosonic festival in the beautiful university city of Groningen.
This year, Derry-born singer-songwriter Soak is Ireland's EBBA Public Choice Award nominee and 2fm is sending Westmeath band The Academic to represent the station at Eurosonic.
In addition to performances from Soak and The Academic, attendees at the EBBAs and Eurosonic will get to see performances in intimate venues across the city by Europe's rising musical stars including German hit-maker Robin Schultz, the UK's Mercury Prize-nominated C Duncan, Norway's Aurora (singer of Half the World Away' currently featuring in the John Lewis Christmas ad), the UK's Years & Years, Belgium's Oscar & The Wolf, UK electronic duo Honne, Latvia's Carnival Youth, Ireland's Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Switzerland's Bastian Baker and Ireland's Otherkin, to name but a few. RT 2fm will be covering the events with reports and music from Groningen but here's the exciting part we want to send a listener and a friend to the EBBAs and Eurosonic from Wednesday 13 Saturday 16 January 2016 with flights courtesy of Aer Lingus, accommodation in Groningen and access-all-gigs passes.

RT 2fm will choose one voter from Ireland to win the prize of attending the awards and festival with a friend. In addition, the winner will have to opportunity to take part in a social media workshop given by the European Broadcasting Union and be asked to take part in the #faneurosonic16 social media campaign throughout the festival. For budding social media marketers and music fans, this is a great opportunity to learn from the best and gain experience and exposure covering a live music event of this calibre and size on social media, with your posts supported on Twitter by @RTE2fm, @EBBA_awards and @ESNSnl, which have a combined total of 184,000 followers.
