Cashboard wins the ProSiebenSat.1 SevenVentures Pitch Day in London / Flaviar and Showroom take second and third place / Pan-European Media Award goes also to Flaviar The start-ups won EUR 7 million worth of media time on the TV stations of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group

Munich/London, November 14, 2014. The winner of this years SevenVentures Pitch Day (7VPD) 2014 is Cashboard. This team headed up by company founder Robert Henker impressed the jury with their business idea in the third iteration of this contest. The German-based start-up will receive a prize worth EUR 4 million in media timeto advertise its product on the TV channels of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. Second place went to US-based Flaviar, which will receive media time worth EUR 2 million, and third place went to Showroom from Poland, which will receive media time worth EUR 1 million.

For the first time this year, European TV broadcasters, namely Modern Times Group (CEE), TVN Group (Poland), Antenna Group (SEE) and Dogan TV (Turkey), participated in the SevenVentures Pitch Day, contributing additional media time worth over EUR 1.5 million: The Pan-European Media Award also went to Flaviar, under the leadership of Jugoslav Petkovic. In addition to these broadcasters Channel 4 (UK) and TF1 (France) are part of the Pan-European Media Alliance.

The viewers of this years 7VPD, which was held at the Noah Conference in London, experienced the kind of contest that is typical for the new economy environment. Appearing one after another, seven young company founders presented their business idea to the jury and the audience in concise, trenchant pitches. Following their pitches, they answered the probing questions of the expert jury composed of international decision makers with many years of industry experience: Philipp Freise (Partner, KKR), Anil Hansjee (CIO MTGx), Sonali De Rycker (Partner, Accel Partners), Deven Parekh (Managing Director, Insight Venture Partners), Gilad Novik (Partner, Horizons Ventures), and Michal Sadowski (Co-Founder and CEO, Brand24).

The finalists were selected at an earlier stage from more than 300 submissions. They are the fintech website Cashboard (Germany), the social media dating app GetYou (Israel), the meta-search engine for private vacation rentals Roomlr (Netherlands), Polands #1 fashion website Showroom (Poland), the photo-sharing app Pico (USA), the shipping service for tasting sets of high-proof liquors Flaviar (USA), and the crowdfunded task assignment platform SquadRun (India).
