Vienna, Austria. April 18th, 2025 ToolsOnAir, a leading provider of broadcast solutions for the macOS and Linux platforms, released version 2025.2 of the just: in mac, just:in mac lite and just:in mac lite NDI capture solutions for macOS.
We are pleased to release new versions of our capture solutions that include many improvements to the capture engine and introduce the seamless growing file support within the MOV container for Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. This integration enables editors to begin working on content while recording, significantly reducing turnaround times in fast-paced environments says Peter Steiner, Head of Worldwide Sales at ToolsOnAir.
Main improvements of Version 2025.2 of ToolsOnAir's Capture Solutions for macOS
Starting with version 2025.2 all just:in mac capture solution will be exclusively optimized for Apple silicon hardware (M1 through M4 chipsets). By fully transitioning to the Apple silicon platform, we ensure optimal performance, stability, and compatibility with the latest advancements. This update establishes a new benchmark for professional media capture, offering seamless integration with modern editing and media asset workflows on Apple silicon-based Mac systems.
New Harmonized QuickTime container for DaVinci Resolve Growing File Support (MOV)
With version 2025.2, the just:in mac product line introduces native support for growing file workflows optimized for DaVinci Resolve 19.x and 20.x, utilizing the MOV container format. This integration empowers editors to begin working on content during recording, significantly accelerating turnaround times in fast-paced production environments. By leveraging Apple ProRes and Harmonized QuickTime capture presets, just:in mac 2025 delivers frame-accurate, multichannel recording on macOS-making it an ideal solution for broadcast, post-production, and live event workflows that demand high-performance and seamless continuity. The Harmonized QuickTime container is available for HD-based capture presets using Apple ProRes codecs.
New Classic QuickTime container for Adobe Premiere Growing File Support (MOV)
The MOV-based container enables Adobe Premiere Pro users to work with growing files as efficiently as with MXF containers. Files expand dynamically within the timeline, allowing for straightforward extension using the standard trimming tool. The Classic QuickTime container is available for HD-based capture presets utilizing Apple ProRes codecs.
ToolsOnAir's entry-level capture solutions just:in mac lite and just:in mac lite NDI have also been updated to version 2025.2 and highly benefit from the improvements of the core just:in mac 2025.2 engine.
ToolsOnAir's macOS-based capture solutions are fully compatible and ready for deployment on macOS Sequoia 15.5.x and later, macOS Sonoma 14.7.x, macOS Ventura 13.7.x, running on Apple silicon hardware (M1 through M4 chipsets).
